About the Role Post Holdings is looking for a Food Scientist II to join our team in Eugene, Oregon for Granola who can combine their baking chemistry and culinary formulation skills with perfect texture, flavor, and the perfect crunch. This includes developing new products and making improvements to existing products. Key Responsibilities Develop new products and improvements to existing products. Assure that product activities meet company cost capacity, quality, marketing, and product development requirements. Improve and develop extensions to existing brands using laboratory bench top, vendor facilities, and full-scale manufacturing systems. Ability to go from bench top to pilot scale to full scale production. Provide design and processing parameters inputs for new products, capacity improvements, and equipment design. Support the identification and solution of cost savings issues, product/packaging change issues, equipment modifications, manufacturability issues, and using appropriate scientific principles. Support validation of process and product parameter changes at the plant level (e.g., equipment, process, or product related). R&D commercialization, new product development & corporate cost savings projects. What We Are Looking For Qualifications Minimum of a 4-year degree in food science, engineering, or other technical degree required. 2-5 years of experience in the CPG food industry in either product or process development role. Proven history of culinary and technical innovations with food products required. Experience Food industry experience working in R&D and/or product development, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in product formulation, process optimization, scale up from bench to plant production, cost savings, and quality improvements. Prefer experience in granola and cereal product development.
