We've been manufacturing beverages in Austin since 1994. We primarily serve food service clients with the products and equipment to dispense sodas, juices, and other beverages. We delight in helping our customers create a good sipping experience for their customers. We work with some iconic brands and we are always growing. Most of our products find their way throughout Texas, but we have a national and international presence. Overview Join our innovative R D team as a Flavor Scientist, where you will play a pivotal role in developing and refining beverage flavor profiles that delight consumers and elevate product offerings. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to create compelling flavors that meet industry standards and consumer preferences. As a key and foundational contributor to our research & development efforts, you will collaborate across departments to ensure flavor quality, safety, and consistency in a fast-paced food production environment. Contract or PT or FT employment depending on candidate. Duties Develop new bench-top flavor formulations through scientific research, sensory evaluation, and data analysis to meet product specifications and consumer expectations Work directly with Company leadership to develop new private label beverage projects, using both art and science Scale-up to large commercial runs Assist creating pilot flavor-house production line Conduct laboratory experiments related to biochemistry, microbiology, and food processing techniques to optimize flavor stability and shelf life Perform quality assurance and quality control tests in accordance with FDA regulations, HACCP protocols, GFSI standards, and other food safety requirements Analyze production samples for flavor consistency, safety, and compliance using advanced analysis skills and laboratory equipment Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot flavor-related issues, identify root causes, and implement continuous improvement strategies Ensure all flavor development activities adhere to sanitation standards, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and HARPC (Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls) guidelines Maintain detailed documentation of research findings, data collection records, and quality systems reports for regulatory audits and internal reviews Skills Strong background in food science with expertise in biochemistry, microbiology, nutrition, and food processing techniques Proven experience in laboratory research including sensory evaluation , analysis skills, and data collection methods A developed palette and nose to complement your scientific analysis Knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP principles, GFSI standards, and food safety protocols such as HARPC Familiarity with manufacturing processes related to food production and packaging systems Ability to perform root cause analysis on flavor inconsistencies or product defects within a quality management framework Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical reporting Commitment to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, safety, and innovation Join us in shaping the future of flavors by leveraging your scientific expertise within a vibrant team dedicated to excellence in the food industry!
