Job Description

About us NEC Group has an exciting opportunity for motivated Staff Geologist to join our Remediation team in Irvine, CA. You will work with our team to deliver remediation consulting services to our key clients, such as the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), the California State Water Resources Control Board and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). You will gain experience in environmental site remediation, including but not limited to, design and operation of Soil Vapor Extraction, Groundwater Treatment and Soil Abatement.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with knowledge of field observations and data collection, and field sampling involving groundwater monitoring wells, soil vapor wells, soil, surface water, and sediments as well as documenting field activities and HASP.
  • Research and analysis, surface and subsurface geologic mapping
  • Field soil sampling for laboratory analysis
  • Report writing, project management and communication skills
  • GIT, PG or CEG certification preffered
  • Valid drivers license and field vehicle for reliable transportation a must.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geological/Earth Sciences, Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Position will require OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training (Paid for by the company)
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Position will include wearing various levels of personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, safety shoes/boots, and hard hat
