Junior Geologist - Mining

Junior Geologist Thorin Resources Revenue Mine Pay Range:

$68,000 - $75,000 No Relocation available . Must be local to the regional area. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Position Summary Thorin Resources is seeking a Junior Geologist to join our technical team at the Revenue Mine. This is a hands-on, site-based position well suited for an early-career geologist looking to build practical experience across core logging, surface sampling, underground ore control, and exploration activities . The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, mine operations, and exploration teams to support both development and production objectives. Key Responsibilities Geological Logging & Sampling Log diamond drill core and/or RC chips, including lithology, alteration, mineralization, structure, and recovery Conduct surface and subsurface sampling programs, including rock, soil, and channel samples Ensure accurate sample identification, chain of custody, and database entry Assist with QA/QC procedures for geological data Mine Geology & Ore Control Map and interpret ore structures and lithological contacts in the mine Mark faces and assist with geological control as the operation moves into production Support grade control activities and reconciliation efforts under supervision Communicate geological observations clearly to mine operations and engineering teams Exploration Support Assist with exploration planning and execution, including drill programs and surface mapping Participate in geological mapping and data interpretation Maintain organized geological records and contribute to technical reports as required General Adhere to all site safety protocols and environmental standards Work a field-based schedule that may include extended shifts and variable conditions Carry out additional duties as assigned by senior geological staff Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field 0-3 years of relevant geological experience (mining or exploration preferred) Strong interest in applied mine geology and field-based work Basic understanding of structural geology, ore controls, and sampling methods Ability to work safely in an active mine environment (surface and/or underground) Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with geological software and databases is an asset Valid driver's license Skills & Attributes Strong observational and documentation skills Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff Clear communicator with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable Physically capable of field work in rugged and industrial conditions Work Location Revenue Mine This is an on-site position; relocation or commuting may be required depending on the candidate's location.
