Job Description

Geotechnician - Drill Rig Support We are seeking motivated and safety-focused Geo-Technicians to support active diamond drilling operations at the Mine Site. This role provides continuous geotechnical and geological support for multiple drill rigs operating in a remote exploration environment. Successful candidates will work closely with drilling crews, geologists, and field management to ensure accurate core handling, geotechnical logging, and daily operational support across 12-hour day and night shifts. Key Responsibilities Perform rig-side geotechnical and geological logging Monitor drill core recovery, orientation, handling, and transport Maintain core integrity from recovery through boxing and shipment Prepare daily quick logs for near real-time operational decisions Collect and record structural and orientation data using digital and manual tools Log rock quality, fracture frequency, recovery, and discontinuity conditions Photograph logged core according to project standards Enter and quality-check geological and geotechnical data Coordinate daily with drill crews, supervisors, and geology staff Conduct daily rig inspections and participate in safety meetings and shift handovers Communicate safety, operational, or geological concerns promptly Work Environment Remote mine site and man-camp based position 12-hour shifts (day and night rotations) Extended rotational schedules Helicopter transportation may be required for some drill sites Camp accommodations and meals provided Qualifications Experience with geotechnical or geological core logging preferred Ability to work independently in remote field conditions Strong communication and organizational skills OSHA 10 Certification (or ability to obtain) Valid driver's license required Degree in Geology, Earth Science, or Engineering preferred Comfortable working in harsh weather and rugged terrain
Payrate:
$32-$38 hr DOE
