Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Geologist to manage our soils laboratory and to manage Geotechnical projects. Geotechnical Laboratory Manager Alt & Witzig Engineering is a construction materials and testing firm dedicated to providing our clients with real-time solutions to needs that arise daily. Currently, we have a position open for a field and soils laboratory manager that can also write geotechnical reports. Laboratory Manager Duties Coordinate with the branch manager to obtain soil samples and complete prescribed soil testing programs in accordance with ASTM standards. Run basic and advanced laboratory soils tests and incorporate results into a project Geotechnical Report. Oversee all aspects of the laboratory programs. Perform some field engineering duties including site staking, witnessing and documenting test pits, soil borings or CPT sampling.
Geotechnical Laboratory Manager Skills and Qualifications:
Strong communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of staff and clients. Strong time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze project data independently of Project Manager or Project Manager's responsibilities. Willingness to learn technical writing skills assoicated with project Geotechnical Reports. Ability to learn and master ASTM testing procedures in the Laboratory. Willingness and desire to obtain new certifications as prudent.

$55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
