Job Description

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan is hiring for one open rank, Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Duties include:
Teach postsecondary courses in the areas of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Climate-Driven Hazards and Earth Surface Dynamics Provide advising, training, and research mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students. Engage in outreach and service activities as well as governance within the Department, Institute, College, University, and broader scholarly community. Develop a sustained record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Establish an externally funded research program in Climate-Driven Hazards and Earth Surface Dynamics. Notable areas of potential scholarship could include but are not limited to integration of climate modeling, Earth surface dynamics modeling, remote sensing, field observations, geochemistry, environmental geophysics, or geospatial analysis techniques to link surface processes and climate-driven hazards. Candidates must obtain a Doctorate (Ph.D.) or equivalent in Earth, Environmental sciences, or a closely related area, prior to the start date of the position.
