Job Description

Local recruitment: Water Resources Resilience Plan Intern Delaware River Basin Commission West Trenton, NJ, USA 🇺🇸 The Delaware River Basin Commission is seeking a graduate-level intern to work with a cross-sectional team to implement Phase 2 of the Water Resources Resilience Plan (WRRP), which is focused on advancing resilience of the Delaware River Basin's water resources to climate change impacts. Specific job duties will be tailored to candidates' interests and experience, and may include: Quantitative analysis of climate model output and other data to evaluate potential impacts to Basin water resources. Preparing maps and other data visualizations. Literature review of other climate planning efforts relevant to the Basin. Assistance planning and executing stakeholder engagement. An undergraduate degree in environmental science, planning, or a related field is required for this position . Applicants with the following experience and skills are encouraged to apply: Coursework relating to water resources, hydrology, climate science, environmental studies, and/or planning. A relevant senior thesis or in-progress graduate research project is a plus. Strong technical writing skills and ability to read and summarize technical reports. Experience working with geospatial data in Microsoft Excel, Python, R, ArcGIS, or other similar tools. The paid internship is available for 37.5 hours/week, May through September 2026. The internship is a hybrid position where in-person attendance at our office in West Trenton, NJ, is required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
