We're seeking an experienced Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer to lead and execute site characterization and remediation solution services for energy, industrial, and government clients. Our ideal candidate brings extensive Western Canadian regulatory experience , including, but not limited to, demonstrated familiarity with the British Columbia Contaminated Sites Regulation (CSR) , the Alberta Tier 1 and Tier 2 Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines , and federal regulatory frameworks such as the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) Remediation Process Guide , including its requirements for contamination assessment, remediation planning, notification, and closure documentation. You'll apply your technical expertise in environmental characterization and remediation to plan and oversee the strategic execution of project tasks while championing safety, quality, and the well-being of your team. The preferred candidate will be based in Calgary or Edmonton and will be available to work in a hybrid configuration with home‑ and office‑based presence (~40% office). You'll lead a team and oversee the planning and execution of field investigation activities, interpretation of data, and preparation of Phase
I & II ESA
reports, conceptual site models, and other technical reporting across the full project life cycle. You may also support project execution including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor procurement and oversight, database management, and reporting. You'll be supported by a diverse group of industry‑leading technical experts through our communities of practice. You'll drive innovation and promote the use of digital tools and electronic data capture. You'll build strong client relationships and collaborate with client account managers to position and win new work. You'll demonstrate continuous alignment with Jacobs' core values to achieve our clients' goals. Here's what you'll need Professional Geoscientist (P. Geo) or Professional Engineer (P. Eng) licensed with APEGA or EGBC, or eligible for transfer. 10-15 years of professional experience related to environmental site assessments, characterization, remediation, risk assessment, and site closure. Robust, in‑depth knowledge of provincial, territorial, federal regulatory frameworks. Practical experience leading field teams in drilling and soil logging, monitoring well installation, groundwater/soil/soil vapor sampling, and investigations at brownfields, industrial/commercial facilities, major construction sites, and landfills. Strong technical writing skills, including preparation of proposals, technical memos, and regulatory submissions. Proven track record in health and safety, including experience with behavior‑based programs. Commitment to ongoing professional development and enthusiasm for environmental geoscience/engineering. Curiosity to find better solutions, embrace digital innovations, and contribute to a more sustainable world. Valid driver's license. Ideally, experience working with risk assessors to support regulatory approvals, and understanding of geotechnical and environmental considerations for soil reuse. Experience with project management principles, business development strategies, and identifying client challenges to deliver innovative solutions.
