This opportunity is closed to applicants who are Senior Fellows (5-years or more past PhD). The Hydrological Sciences Laboratory at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center is seeking a post-doc candidate in hydrologic application of remotely sensed precipitation. The Lab has expertise in ground and space based observation and modeling of soil moisture, snow, precipitation, and terrestrial water storage. The candidate should work with other members of the Lab towards the goal of developing a comprehensive and complete understanding of the global water cycle, by providing expertise in the measurement and analysis of precipitation at all scales. The ideal candidate will have educational experience in remote sensing of rainfall and/or snowfall. The candidate should have interests that include evaluating the numerous regional to global scale precipitation products now available, developing methods for spatial downscaling of data from these products within numerical models of land surface hydrology processes, and potential applications of these products. NASA's Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) satellite mission launched in 2014 and provides near global precipitation estimates at high spatial and temporal resolution. The candidate could help participate in GPM analysis, and contribute to hydrologic applications of GPM data.Location:
