Assist users in setting up and carrying out experiments. Instruct users in the operation of special equipment and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. Perform functions in support of assigned responsibilities to include purchasing instrumentation and supplies. Assist Chief of User Support with providing software and data acquisition support of other National High Magnetic Field Laboratory project teams. Perform complex experiments to facilitate development of new experimental capabilities including analyzing, modelling, and reporting of experimental data. Interpret and implement policy relative to user utilization of instrumentation. Assist with policy development for overall user program. Will maintain technical knowledge and expertise at the highest level and use the knowledge/expertise to identify short- and long-range instrumentation needs. Participate in development of new programs to meets user's needs as they evolve. Independently research and propose solutions that improve experimental capabilities to enhance the user experience. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and nine years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and thirteen years of experience. (

post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.) Preferred Qualifications Expertise in thermal transport measurements at low temperatures and high magnetic fields.
