5376525 The Postdoctoral Fellow will provide advanced independent and/or directed research to achieve the objectives for the Hascup Neuroscience Laboratories. The primary purpose of postdoctoral training is to develop new or advanced research skills, increase publication record, gain experience in scientific writing, presentation skills, and mentoring of graduate students. Dr. Hascup studies aging, Alzheimer's disease, and related disorders in rodent models using various behavioral testing, in vivo electrochemistry, immunohistochemistry and various cellular and molecular techniques. This Postdoctoral Fellow may also to external funding opportunities under the guidance of Dr. Hascup. Administration 0% Teaching 5% Supervise, assist, and train other lab members Research 95% Design and develop project(s) Perform technical experiments In vivo electrochemical recordings in rodents Next generation sequencing Behavioral testing such as Morris water maze and novel object recognition Brain slicing/dissection Immunostaining Imaging Real time qPCR Western blot ELISA Perform data analysis Write manuscripts and grants May assist in writing IACUC and IRB protocols May assist in writing reports to funding agencies, etc. Present data at lab meetings and national or international scientific meetings Service 0%

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PhD in neuroscience or a related research field Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations

Preference will be given to applications with experience in rodent behavioral paradigms, stereotaxic surgery, RNA/DNA sequencing, molecular biology, or research related to cellular senescence.
