Medical Lab Scientist I Saint Luke's Health System - 3.5 Overland Park, KS Job Details Full-time 2 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Job Description Saint Luke's South Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team! Performs medical laboratory testing in a CLIA-certified laboratory. This position is responsible for the accuracy, timely reporting and integrity of laboratory results. Qualified to assess competency of MLS and MLT personnel after one year of experience. New Grad must pass ASCP registry within 9 months of hire. Medical Laboratory Scientist certification can be through ASCP or AMT. 3-twelve hour shifts 0700-1930 during the week with every third week weekend Has working knowledge of and performs testing in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards. Successful performance in laboratory's external proficiency program. Organizes and performs multiple technical tasks with maximum efficiency and minimal waste. Reports laboratory results in the Hospital LIS/EMR, as ordered by providers. Reviews and approves quality control results to affirm validity of patient results. Maintains instrumentation and confirms acceptable performance. Uses education and experience to identify and resolve technical, instrumental and physiological issues that interfere with accurate testing. Participates in establishing and monitoring quality metrics as part of Laboratory Performance Improvement Plan. Qualified to assess competency of MLS and MLT personnel after one year of experience.
