Job Description Under general supervision, performs complex analyses on a variety of sample types, utilizing independent judgment to generate acceptable test results. Performs as lead by managing workflow, mentoring others and serving as a clinical and technical resource. Independently performs responsibilities of
MLS I, MLS
II and MLS III. Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multi-disciplinary patient care services team. Develops and leads efforts to improve regulatory compliance within and beyond the department. Assists leadership team with interviewing, orienting, training and supervising. Provides input to leadership team for performance evaluations and corrective actions. Collaborates with leadership in identifying gaps and opportunities for professional development and strategic organizational initiatives. Facilitates in creating a positive departmental culture. Assists leadership in identification and resolution of complex clinical and operational issues. Responsible for regulatory and accreditation agency preparation and participation. Work Experience Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences and minimum of three years' experience in a clinical laboratory required or; an associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or completion of Military Laboratory Technology with a minimum of five years of experience. Three (3) years of experience in clinical laboratory required with a Bachelor's degree, or five years of experience in a clinical laboratory with an Associate's degree or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program required. ASCP or equivalent preferred.
