Job Description

Global Service Resources is looking for a registry/contract Medical Laboratory Scientist for the night shift at Sinai Grace Hospital in
Detroit Pay Rate:
$55 to $58.50/hr on W2.
Schedule:
11PM to 7AM, 5x8, 40 hours/week
Contract:
13 weeks with a high chance of extension
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery RN at an inpatient/acute care hospital
  • Current Michigan State Licensure as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS)
  • BLS from American Heart Association
  • Must not have been an employee of any Tenet hospitals in the last 12 months
  • Must pass background check and drug test
Some Duties Include:
Core Testing & Operations Process and test specimens: Handle all types of lab specimens using automated and manual methods.
Review and report results:
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of lab findings while maintaining thorough documentation.
Maintain equipment:
Perform operational duties, routine maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting on complex lab instruments.
Prepare materials:
Make and check the validity of solutions, reagents, media stains, and other testing supplies.
Manage inventory:
Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of chemicals, reagents, and daily supplies. Quality & Compliance Quality control: Follow strict Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs.
Regulatory compliance:
Assist with compliance standards set by agencies like the College of American Pathologists (CAP), The Joint Commission (TCJ), or the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB). Leadership & Support Serve as a resource: Act as a technical expert and problem-solver for other lab personnel, support staff, and clients.
Train and assess:
Help with employee training, onboarding, and competency assessments.
Validate equipment:
Assist in validating and implementing new laboratory instruments.
Communicate with management:
Keep lab leadership informed of department workflow, issues, and suggestions for improvement Please note: Personal documents and references will be collected. You will not receive the same benefits as a direct employee of the facility. However, you will be able to sign up for Kaiser healthcare and Delta dental after 90 days of employment.
