Posted Job Title Research Specialist B/C/D Job Profile Title Research Specialist B Job Description Summary Research Specialist B The Research Specialist B will extract metabolites from a variety of biological matrices, perform targeted and untargeted LC/MS metabolomics assays, and carry out data analysis requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. In addition, the Research Specialist B will assist the Director with establishing new metabolomics assays, instrument maintenance, ordering chemicals and supplies, and maintain laboratory safety. Research Specialist C The Research Specialist C will extract metabolites from a variety of biological matrices, perform targeted and untargeted LC/MS metabolomics assays, and carry out data analysis requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. In addition, the Research Specialist C will assist the Director with establishing new metabolomics assays, instrument maintenance, ordering chemicals and supplies, and maintain laboratory safety. In addition, the Research Specialist C will independently develop new methods with minimal oversight and assist the Core Director with project management. Research Specialist D The Research Specialist D will extract metabolites from a variety of biological matrices, perform targeted and untargeted LC/MS metabolomics assays, and carry out data analysis requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. In addition, the Research Specialist D will assist the Director with establishing new metabolomics assays, instrument maintenance, ordering chemicals and supplies, and maintain laboratory safety. In addition, the Research Specialist D will assist the Director with the overall operation of the lab and provide training and supervision of lab technicians, undergraduate and graduate students. Additional responsibilities include contributing text and data for journal submissions, participating in meetings with research professors to design metabolomics experiments and analyze data, and independently develop new metabolomics assays and make improvements to existing assays.
