Research Area Specialist Inter - Term Limited University of Michigan - 4.3 Ann Arbor, MI Job Details Part-time 9 hours ago Qualifications Doctor of Philosophy Full Job Description Job Summary Will be employed in the Neuromuscular Lab at the University of Michigan. The position will involve work on a federally funded Department of Defense grant looking at utilizing exoskeletons for patients with chronic and intractable footdrop. Responsibilities• The Research Area Specialist Intermediate will be responsible for conducting the experiments described in the grant including research design, analysis and interpretation of data, and manuscript preparation. He will work closely with team members from both Dr. Kemp and his collaborators Drs. Rouse and Gregg's lab to ensure the completion of the projects. The position will require interacting with patients and assessing use of the M-Blue exoskeleton. Required Qualifications• Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or a related field. 4-5 years of experience in a related field Desired Qualifications• Master's or PhD in a related field and/or publication record. Experience with signal processing Experience with exoskeleton control Experience working with patients Modes of Work Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work Schedule Part-time (20 hours/week). Laboratory will be in the Medical Sciences Research Building II (MSRB2) on the University of Michigan Medical Campus. All work will be conducted on site at either the Neuromuscular Lab or at University Hospital Additional Information This is a term limited position, ending May11, 2027. This is a term-limited appointment. At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate and will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.
