6/26/2026 SUMMARY The Research Student reports to the Principal Investigator or assigned program manager/supervisor, providing assistance to the project staff, as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES
For Clinical Research Programs:
Conducts research protocols in conjunction with project staff, which may include, but are not limited to: Data entry, data cleaning, data analyses, and data programming tasks as needed Assisting in the recruitment of participants including telephone screening efforts Assisting research assistants in participant visits Assisting in the collection, processing, and storing of various biospecimens Literature reviews May serve as a liaison to research participants, reminding them of upcoming clinical appointments and monitoring progress between visits.
For Basic Research Programs:
Under supervision of the Principal Investigator or designee, perform basic laboratory experiments in the program field. May include such activities as pipetting, tissue culture, data analysis, and other experimental procedures. Maintains quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control in accordance with established hospital department policies, procedures, and objectives. Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BASIC KNOWLEDGE
Must be a matriculating student in an accredited college program. Basic understanding of computer programs including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel may be necessary. Per Diem work schedule.
EXPERIENCE
For basic research programs, prior exposure/experience within laboratory setting (which may include from laboratory work within educational experience).
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Normal office and/or lab environment. Requires standing, bending, and sitting. Sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to use computer keyboard and other common office equipment.
INDEPENDENT ACTION
All work should be under direct supervision of senior faculty member or designee.
