Full Time Night Shift Monday-Thursday 8:00 PM•6:30 AM, with holidays, and call•Shift/days may change
Pay:
BOE, according to the union contract MLT wage range $33.90•$53.76 Medical laboratory Scientist wage range $38.31•$66.35

Description:
Has a professional responsibility for planning, performing, evaluating and reporting
CLIA '88
waived, moderately complex and highly complex testing. This includes pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical function; performing the day-to-day work of MLT/MLS to include performing quality control and quality assurance; instrument maintenance and troubleshooting; monitoring supply inventory; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with health care providers, patients, and other hospital personnel.
Responsibilities:
Obtain, evaluate, process and prepare specimens for testing; interpret provider orders; communicate with providers and patient care personnel concerning testing and orders. Pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical function; leading the day to day work of technicians, and other personnel; performing quality control and quality assurance. Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting; monitoring supply inventory; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with health care providers, and patients, other hospital personnel. Responsibility for coordinating assigned testing activity with other laboratory personnel; selecting and running appropriate standards and quality control material; operating the analytical equipment according to established protocols; performing testing, and producing accurate and timely results; demonstrating technical knowledge about procedures performed; applying learned skills in problem solving and troubleshooting. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Laboratory Director, Manager, Chief Tech, Medical or Administrative Directors. Other duties as assigned. Minimum of an associate's degree, bachelor's degree preferred with training to include the completion of a certified MLT/MLS program. MLT/MLS certification by ASCP, AMT, AABB or equivalent organization required. Minimum of 3 years Generalist experience in a hospital laboratory including Blood Banking and phlebotomy preferred. Must be able to work independently. MA-P phlebotomy license required within 6 months of hire.
