WTOC is looking for a full-time meteorologist to join the First Alert Weather Team and cover our weekend newscasts, as well as provide engaging and dynamic weather content during the week across multiple platforms. The Savannah market experiences all types of weather, from snow to hurricanes. This is a role where you can dig in and make an impact in our community through educating and informing our audience. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Forecast and deliver engaging weather segments for our scheduled weekend newscasts
- Produce and anchor weather segments for WTOC+, our streaming and digital platform
- Create dynamic and watchable social media content for WTOC social platforms
- Update WTOC core platforms (website, mobile apps) often with accurate and relevant forecast information
- Research and pitch live weather segments for your weekday shifts
- Work with the rest of the First Alert Weather team during severe weather and hurricane coverage
- These positions will also be responsible for filling in for other meteorologists during the week
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in meteorology, broadcast meteorology, or atmospheric sciences
- At least two years of experience in an on-air meteorologist role
- Familiarity with The Weather Company (WSI) Max computer system
