Storm Warning Meteorologist AccuWeather United States, Kansas, Wichita Company Locations (Show on map) Aug 20, 2026 We are seeking a full-time meteorologist with outstanding forecasting and communication skills to join our family of Storm Warning Meteorologists at the AccuWeather Severe Weather Center in Wichita, Kansas. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Storm Warning Meteorologist, you will have opportunities to handle all types of hazardous weather forecasting and issue weather warnings for major business, transportation, education, media, and government organizations.
These include:
Utilize internal warning software to create your own customized, site-specific hazardous weather warnings (tornado, wind, flash flood, hurricane, etc.) independent of government agencies. Create hazardous weather forecast graphics and customized text discussions for transportation and other specialized clients across North America. Daily interaction with clients that need to make immediate operational weather-related decisions. Use internal computer applications. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences. Refined customer service skills. Ability to meet strict deadlines. Great attention to detail. Ability to process meteorological data and make swift, accurate warning decisions. Ability to interact with and collaborate professionally with other members of the forecasting team. Must be willing and able to work semi-rotating shifts that include afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends, and some holidays.
