WEATHERIZATION SPECIALIST
Non-ExemptJOB SUMMARY
DUTIES:
Gathers documents to complete client intake- Prepare requisitions Prepares and maintains performance reports on all Weatherization activities Prepares all reports relative to program activities
- Assist with grant proposals Preforms pre-inspection of homes and adhere to the guidelines of the program Attends workshops, seminars, and other training as appropriate to meet program goals and objectives
- Maintain client files Prepare
NEAT/ MHEA
audit, and house drawings- Prepare contracts and work scopes Maintains confidentiality on all case files
- Obtain vendor quotes Preforms other duties that are assigned by the, Weatherization Coordinator and/or Executive Director
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Weatherization Specialists can work in cold and hot conditions that are dirty, dusty, and often claustrophobic. Examples include attics, crawl spaces, and basements. Safety must always come first, a Weatherization Specialist often deals with electricity, flammable lines, and hazardous chemicals. They need to wear protective gear to ensure they are not exposed to dust, chemicals, and hazardous materials found in older structures.SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP
The Weatherization Specialist shall be responsible to the Weatherization Coordinator. Will work from some guidance from the Weatherization SpecialistI QUALIFICATIONS A
minimum of one year experience in a community-based service organization and some college. Applicant must have working knowledge and familiarity with carpentry measures, good computer skills, good communication skills, knowledge of building materials, construction, installing installation, gas leak testing, carbon monoxide testing, planning and budgeting. Possess a valid driver's license.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OSHA 30
Certified- or must be certified within six (6) months of hire State Licensed Certified Renovator
- or must be certified within six (6) months of hire CPR Certification and First Aid
- obtained within 60 days of hire Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certified Building Analyst
- or obtain within two (2) years of hire BPI Certified Energy Auditor and QCI Inspector
- or must be certified within three (3) years of hire
