JOB PURPOSE
The Field Specialist is responsible for the collection, processing, and handling of various wellsite samples, with a primary focus on production fluids. This role includes assembling, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting wellsite sampling and testing equipment to ensure reliable performance and data quality. Key responsibilities include organizing, collecting, and processing rock and fluid samples; maintaining wellsite testing equipment in proper working condition; and ensuring sampling operations are conducted safely, accurately, and efficiently. The Field Specialist is expected to follow all company Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and operational policies and procedures while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and regulatory compliance. The position requires the ability to work effectively in a variety of environmental and weather conditions, adapt to changing operational demands, and maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and extended work hours as required to support field operations. QHSSE Required to follow all QHSSE and Compliance policies and procedures and complete training by using all systems as defined by Stratum. You are responsible for creating opportunities for improvement, report and investigate incidents, non-conformities, and operative issues. Employees must submit STAR cards and report any risks identified on the job. Participation in meetings and general activities created to help in prevent risks is required. The employee is responsible to stop the job and assess whether the conditions are safe to continue work. If applicable, must be responsible for completing all required QHSSE and Compliance reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Use established industry protocols and standards for processing core and fluid samples on wellsite locations, for testing and analysis at the laboratory. Prepare solid and fluid samples for analysis. Assemble, operate, and maintain wellsite equipment. Compile and record testing and operational data for review and further analysis. Adjust and repair testing, electrical, and mechanical wellsite equipment, and devices. Perform daily tasks in a timely manner. Meet all daily and monthly production requirements. Know and understand Stratum Reservoir's Enterprise Excellence Process and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions. Must understand and comply with all safety rules, confidentiality practices and company policies of Stratum Reservoir. Comply with Stratum Reservoir Training and requirements via Employee Connect. Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level Be able to use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Coordinate and schedule sampling activities. Manage communication and logistics related to sampling programs. Assign and coordinate field work with field personnel as required. Ensure sampling activities are properly planned, documented, and executed. Actively participate in all wellsite projects as needed. Be fully capable and willing to support multiple wellsite projects involving both Rock and Fluids services. Support both onshore and offshore operations when required. Be available for field travel and project assignments based on operational needs.
Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to communicate with multiple company and client representatives and document efficiently Basic computer skills such as email and Microsoft office (Excel, Word and Outlook) Previous field operations experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry. Experience working with chemicals and handling chemical-related processes safely and effectively. Experience working with pressurized equipment and a strong understanding of field safety protocols. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with the ability to manage schedules, track activities, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Strong organizational and coordination skills. Willingness to travel for extended periods of time to different states. Able to work 12-hour shift without close supervision Able to work flexible hours including shifts longer than 12 hours Ability to react quickly and rationally to stressful situations. Strong written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment Valid driver's license. Satisfactory driving record as defined in Driver Qualification Policy HRD-12. Ability to operate a forklift and other motorized equipment. Ability to operate and repair wellsite equipment. Ability to remain focused in repetitive tasks and work independently. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to work safely and well with other team members. Ability to attend and pass all required safety classes. Oilfield experience with production equipment (Separator, Wellhead, Heater Treater, Etc) Knowledge of laboratory, mechanical, construction, well testing, fluid sampling, or other is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Education with some Geology Classes Knowledge about surface production equipment
