Job Description
RSM Diagnostics Lab is seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Research Scientist to join our lab team. This hands-on role is responsible for performing and overseeing a range of diagnostic and research testing, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant results across multiple platforms and methodologies. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or related field (PhD a plus) 5+ years of hands-on clinical or research laboratory experience Demonstrated proficiency in ELISA, RT-PCR, microbiology culture techniques, and NGS workflows Strong understanding of CLIA, CAP, and other relevant regulatory/quality standards Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices Strong problem-solving and communication skills Prior experience in a diagnostics lab setting preferred Job Responsibilities Perform ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) testing for antigen/antibody detection Conduct RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) testing for pathogen and nucleic acid detection in clinical samples Perform microbiology culture work, including specimen plating, organism identification, and susceptibility testing Conduct Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) library prep, run setup, and preliminary data analysis Ensure all testing follows established SOPs, CLIA/CAP guidelines, and quality control standards Accurately document, interpret, and report test results Troubleshoot assay and instrument issues; perform routine equipment maintenance and calibration Participate in method validation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain proper specimen handling, chain of custody, and biosafety protocols Collaborate with lab leadership and cross-functional teams on research and testing priorities Mentor junior lab technicians and support ongoing training initiatives
