Job Overview:
The Lead will join other leads as part of the Microbiology leadership team that shapes molecular microbiology and infectious disease testing across the various Deaconess campuses. The primary responsibility of the Lead position in Microbiology is to ensure technical quality, efficiency, and accuracy of work within the assigned section at Deaconess Hospital Midtown. This specialty area includes specimen processing and molecular testing across a variety of sample to answer platforms.
Required:
Certifications/Licenses/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science (Biology/Chemistry) from an accredited U.S. college or university. Registered Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent registration. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Microbiology, Molecular or other clinical laboratory, preferred Proficient with LIS, EPIC and MS Office. Ability to stand and work on uncarpeted floors for duration or significant portion of shift Demonstration of leadership qualities, e.g., maturity, job knowledge, professionalism, communication skills, etc. to lead, guide and motivate others. Experience in leadership preferred.
