QC Microbiology Associate

Description The QC Microbiologist will support routine microbiological testing activities within a GMP pharmaceutical laboratory. This individual will be hands‑on in executing USP compendial test methods to support product release, stability, and compliance during a defined contract assignment. Conduct bioburden testing following USP Microbial Enumeration testing, including Total Aerobic Microbial Count (TAMC) and Total Yeast and Mold Count (TYMC) using membrane filtration and/or plate count methods. Execute USP Tests for Specified Microorganisms, including screening for objectionable organisms such as E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella spp., Candida albicans, and bile‑tolerant Gram‑negative bacteria. Conduct USP Burkholderia cepacia complex (BCC) testing on aqueous or high‑risk non‑sterile products, including enrichment, selective agar plating, and result documentation. Accurately document test results in laboratory notebooks, worksheets, or electronic systems in compliance with GMP and data integrity requirements. Support routine lab operations such as media preparation, sample handling, equipment cleaning, and troubleshooting as needed. testing in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or GMP-regulated laboratory which includes bioburden testing, plate counts, salmonella or ecoli testing, etc. Strong understanding of aseptic technique, microbial testing workflows, and GMP documentation. Ability to work independently and contribute immediately in a fast‑paced QC environment.
