Houston, TX 77030 Contract opportunity Weekly Pay with direct deposit or pay card When you work through Team1Medical, you are eligible to enroll in dental, vision and medical insurance as well as 401K, direct deposit and our referral bonus program Job Description Join a leading public health laboratory as a Microbiologist III, where you will perform daily microbiology and molecular testing to detect infectious diseases in support of the ELC Core Grant. This role is responsible for conducting highly technical bacteriological, serological, and virological testing using established laboratory procedures while maintaining accurate documentation of results. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory quality and safety. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical public health initiatives in a collaborative laboratory environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform microbiology and molecular testing for the detection of infectious diseases. Conduct bacteriological, serological, and virological laboratory testing following established procedures and laboratory techniques. Record, analyze, and report laboratory test results accurately and timely. Maintain laboratory quality standards while following all safety and regulatory requirements. Assist the laboratory supervisor with technical and administrative assignments as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Biology , Bacteriology, Microbiology, or a closely related scientific field required. Minimum of two years of laboratory experience performing bacteriology, serology, or virology testing. Experience following standardized laboratory procedures and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
