Applicants must possess a M.Sc. (with 5 years of experience) or B.Sc. (with 10 years of experience) degree in Food Microbiology, Microbiology or Food Science, or a closely related field. The candidate should be highly motivated and proactive, have a strong passion for food microbiology/safety and food science, and be willing to do their best to help our clients on their requested projects. This position works as part of the Special Projects team at IEH, which performs a variety of projects in food science and food microbiology, as needed, in a timely manner. Occasional work on weekends, extended hours, and/or presence in the lab outside of the normal schedule are sometimes required. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: laboratory bench work, proposal/report writing, data collection, handling and analysis, general laboratory work, management and upkeep, documentation and scheduling for projects, invoicing, record keeping, and any other related tasks assigned by the team leaders. The pay range for this position is $47,840 - 54,000 annually. This is a full-time position and is eligible for the following benefits after a brief waiting period: medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, health and dependent care FSA plans, employee assistance program, 15 days of paid time off per year for sick leave and/or vacation, 6 paid holidays per year, 3 days paid bereavement leave, and 401(k) (with up to 3% employer match after eligibility criteria are met).
