Job Summary IFF offers a co-op position in Madison, Wisconsin, for students to gain hands-on lab experience in probiotic R D. Responsibilities include standard lab activities, research assistance, and compliance with safety regulations, providing valuable industry experience and development opportunities. The assignment provides students with opportunities to develop by integrating classroom theory with practical work and to demonstrate their skills for future career opportunities at IFF. We are currently seeking talented college students to join our Health & Biosciences Probiotic R D laboratory, located at our Madison, Wisconsin facility. Our Health & Bioscience Probiotic R D Laboratory will enable you to gain valuable experience in an innovative industrial laboratory setting. The laboratory investigates probiotic addition to dietary supplement and food products as well as innovative methods for assessing identity purity, potency. As a Co-op, you will have an opportunity to do the following: Adopt and embrace IFF's company values "Partners, Passionate, Persistent, Principled". Be responsible for standard laboratory activities such as making media for enumeration, running an autoclave (sterilization equipment), cleaning of glassware, upkeep of shared laboratory spaces and restocking supplies. Assist with research experiments by performing microbiological and molecular based methods. Develop an understanding of internal IFF probiotic research projects. Participate in work-specific training and development. Work with experienced research associates and scientists. Work in a business casual environment with flexible work/life opportunities. Work in a dynamic team environment that leverages the resources of a large organization. Compliance with lab safety policies and procedures is required. Job Requirements The following requirements MUST be met for consideration in the Probiotic R D Co-Op position: Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university. Currently at least a sophomore in an undergraduate bachelor's degree program, or a first-year graduate student in a master's degree program. Pursuing a degree in Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Food Science, Biology or related fields. A minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred. Microsoft Office Suite experience - (especially Excel) and SharePoint Ability to work 16 hours (up to 40 hours) a week while enrolled in school; set schedule preferred. Strong interpersonal and leadership experience - such as community volunteerism. Organizational and analytical ability. Authorized in the U.S. without restriction.
