Microbiologist I

Position Overview Under the direction of the Microbiology Supervisor, the Microbiologist will be responsible for performing microbiological tests on raw material, work in progress (WIP), finished products, and environmental swabs to ensure product safety and quality per company policies and procedures. Essential Functions Test products and environmental swabs for relevant bacteria (coliforms, E. coli, Staph, Listeria, etc.) Test products for Gluten Generate Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) & Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) documentation Perform instrument verifications and calibrations Maintain inventory of lab supplies Validate new lab procedures Verify product labels Sample products, raw materials, and environmental swabs as needed Work with relevant bacteria Hours 7:00am

• 3:30pm, Monday
• Friday. With a rotation of 6:30am
• 3:00pm, Monday
• Friday and Saturday rotation as needed.

Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or a related field required Experience 4+ years of experience in a lab setting Experience working in a lab or Quality Control environment is preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills Comprehensive knowledge in any area of science, particularly biology or microbiology Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Ability to calculate test results and troubleshoot lab instrumentation and procedures Good oral and written communication skills Ability to follow procedures precisely Ability to work in a team environment Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time PCR experience Necessary Competencies Adaptability/Flexibility Analytical/Detail-Oriented Ethics/Integrity Personal Accountability/ Professionalism Quality Teamwork/ Team Building Technical Skills Time Management Benefits Package Standard Process is proud to be a top workplace.
