•FEDERAL
WORK STUDY AWARDING WILL NOT BEGIN UNTIL AFTER JUNE 1, 2025
•PRIMARY
FUNCTION
Work-study Student Employee or Student Employee performs varied duties dependent upon the department in which the student is working. Work duties include but are not limited to clerical assistance, food service assistance, grounds maintenance, art or science lab assistance, computer and technology support, tutoring, or event setup. Performance of these duties may be during evening or weekend hours, depending upon the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be a current Spoon River College student (enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours during fall and spring semesters and enrolled in a minimum of three credit hours during summer semester). 2. Federal work-study eligible for work-study positions. 3. Must possess a high level of initiative with ability to follow directions accurately and work independently with little supervision. 4. Must be dependable with a high level of work attendance. 5. Clerical positions require Microsoft Office proficiency. 6. Must possess excellent client service skills. 7. Must treat individuals with respect and courtesy. 8. Must possess excellent communication skills. 9. Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check are required. 10. Tutors must have completed class(es) to be tutored with a 3.0 GPA or better or currently enrolled in class(es) to be tutored with an instructor recommendation/referral. 11. Tutors must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or better.

Physical demands for this position include the ability to regularly sit, stand, reach, use hands and fingers, talk and hear. This position requires reaching, bending, stooping / kneeling, and climbing and the ability to move from circulation desk to reserve shelves repetitively. Vision requirements for this position include close vision including the ability to view text from a computer monitor. Work environment for this position includes typical office environment with no extremes in temperature, noise, and limited physical risk.
