In this role, you will assist physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring a supportive and efficient environment for rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as experience in various care settings including outpatient clinics and inpatient facilities. Responsibilities Preparing patients for treatment, assisting with transfers and transportation. Cleaning treatment areas and maintaining a tidy gym/room environment. Ensuring treatment areas are well stocked. Efficiently setting up patients with modalities to ensure safety and comfort. Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries. Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is clean and ready for use. Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks, providing encouragement and support throughout their rehabilitation process. Maintain accurate patient records, including intake information and progress notes. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans and answer any questions they may have. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Experience Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in hospitals or outpatient clinics. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is good to know. Experience working with various patient populations including geriatrics, orthopedics, and those requiring acute or post-acute care is highly desirable. Familiarity with intake processes and patient service best practices will be beneficial. A background in sub-acute care or hospital medicine can enhance your candidacy.
