This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. You will serve as the Director of Transition in the Chief Technology Office (Code 00T) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division.

Qualifications:

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a General Engineer (0801-series) or a General Physical Scientist (1301-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12 and GS-13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer or scientist demonstrating experience leading the technical evaluation and transition planning of applied physical science or complex engineering systems. This experience must include applying scientific or engineering principles to accomplish at least TWO of the following: 1) Assessing Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) for RDT&E projects. 2) Overseeing the design or execution of rigorous testing and evaluation parameters to validate prototype performance. 3) Mitigating technical risks in emerging physical systems. 4) Securing funding or transition pathways to bridge laboratory technologies to formal Programs of Record.
