Job Requirements Great Lakes, IL Secret Polygraph not specified Mid Level Career (5+ yrs experience) Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Secret Cleared Physical Scientist / Chemist Great Lakes, IL (On-Site) 6-Month Contract-to-Hire $32-$40/hr W2 + Benefits Insight Global is seeking a Secret Cleared Physical Scientist/Chemist to support the Armed Forces Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratory at Naval Station Great Lakes. This role is ideal for candidates with laboratory experience who want to apply their scientific background in a mission-driven environment supporting the Department of Defense. The laboratory provides critical forensic toxicology testing services that directly impact military readiness and accountability. This position offers a path to permanent employment after six months, with long-term program stability and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate specimen submissions and determine suitability for forensic testing Analyze laboratory and specimen data generated through testing activities Review findings and prepare accurate scientific reports Support quality assurance initiatives and standard operating procedures Ensure compliance with laboratory best practices and documentation requirements Collaborate with government scientists, chemists, and laboratory personnel
Required Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science, Physical Science, or a related scientific discipline Experience working in a laboratory environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to follow detailed scientific and regulatory procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in forensic, toxicology, pharmaceutical, environmental, clinical, or research laboratories Familiarity with laboratory quality systems and documentation Experience analyzing scientific data and preparing reports Why This Opportunity?
