Role Overview As a Medical Physicist•Proton Assistant , you will support essential clinical physics operations within a radiation therapy clinic that includes proton therapy, photon therapy, electron therapy, and brachytherapy. Under the direct supervision of a medical physicist, this role focuses on quality assurance, patient positioning, treatment planning support, equipment commissioning, and radiation safety. You'll collaborate closely with therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, and clinical staff to ensure safe, accurate treatment delivery. Key Responsibilities Support basic treatment planning and patient setup processes Assist with patient positioning and immobilization Perform routine radiation protection and safety procedures Conduct machine and patient-specific quality assurance tasks Collaborate with clinical teams during treatment delivery Participate in acceptance testing and commissioning of radiation therapy equipment Support routine QA aspects of treatment processes and physics equipment Maintain adherence to all physics quality assurance policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Education•Required Bachelor's degree in Medical/Health Physics, Physical Science, Engineering, or other scientific discipline Degree must include physics-related coursework consistent with clinical radiation oncology support roles Experience•Preferred Radiation Oncology experience Experience in a proton therapy or clinical physics environment Total Rewards & Benefits BayCare offers a competitive total rewards package, including: Medical, Dental & Vision insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Tuition Assistance 401(k) Match + Annual Contributions Annual Performance Appraisals & Team Bonus Program Wellness resources & family support Community perks & discounts Take the Next Step Join BayCare and support groundbreaking proton therapy and advanced radiation treatment services.
