Job Description

Responsibilities Performs a variety of duties related to providing qualified radiological physics support for the Radiation Oncology Department. This includes but is not limited to equipment monitoring for quality assurance/control, clinical application of radiation oncology and documentation necessary in the therapeutic application. Assists Chief Medical Physicist in all brachytherapy services, including high dose rate and prostate seed implantation. Assists Chief Medical Physicist in ensuring that all physics functions and operations within the department meet state and other regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
  • MS or PhD degree in medical physics.
  • Board certification or eligibility in therapeutic medical physics from the American Board of Radiology (or equivalent).
  • Three years clinical experience in medical physics, including HDR planning treatment delivery.
  • Eligible for addition to the radioactive materials license to handle radioisotopes as a Qualified Medical Physicist.

REQUIRED
1. Masters Degree in Medical Physics or related field. 2. Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) 3. Must be ABR certified or eligible
PREFERRED 1.
Experience:
3 (three) years in Radiation Oncology (clinical application of medical physics, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy and Prostate Seed Implants)
Work Hours:
8AM-4
