About the
Job Radiation Physicist Opportunity Compensation & Incentives:
Rate:
$80.00 - $120.00 per hour
Sign-On Bonus:
$25,000
Relocation Assistance:
Available Residency Stipend:
Up to $20,000 while in residency.
Remote Flexibility:
Primarily on-site with the possibility of working remotely one day per week.
Position Summary:
Seeking a Radiation Physicist responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of therapeutic ionizing radiation in collaboration with radiation oncologists and clinical staff. This role oversees medical physics operations, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and treatment planning support while promoting excellence in patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures to ensure the safe operation of radiation therapy equipment. Oversee quality assurance and performance checks for accelerators, brachytherapy equipment, simulation systems, and other radiation-producing devices. Perform acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration, and quality assurance on new and repaired equipment. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing radiation therapy practices. Supervise and support the technical aspects of dosimetrists' and therapists' activities. Participate in IOeRT treatments and conduct machine quality assurance before treatments. Assist with treatment planning for External Beam Radiation Therapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery, and Brachytherapy. Develop and coordinate optimal treatment plans with radiation oncologists and technical staff. Perform treatment planning and patient monitoring for High Dose Rate (HDR) treatments. Evaluate and implement updates to treatment planning systems, radiation calculations, measurement systems, and record-and-verification software. Monitor clinical quality indicators and collaborate with physicians to develop and maintain treatment guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education Master's Degree in Medical Physics, Physics, or a related field (Required). Doctoral Degree in Medical Physics or a related discipline (Preferred).
Experience:
Completed a Medical Physics Residency within the past 5 years (Required). 3-5 years of clinical experience in a related setting (Highly Preferred).
Certifications & Licensure:
Board Certified Radiation Therapy Physicist through the American Board of Medical Physicists (Required). Board Certified Radiation Therapy Physicist through the American Board of Radiology (Required). Eligible to serve as an Authorized Medical Physicist (Highly Preferred). Certification by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent in Therapeutic Medical Physics within 3 years of hire (Preferred).
