Know Your Team:
UT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility, including a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center; advanced diagnostic technology; 10-bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City. Responsibilities Facilitate radiation treatments to ensure precise delivery and high-quality care for patients. Address theoretical and practical problems of measurements of ionizing radiation under clinical conditions. Calibrate radiation-producing and detecting equipment, including nuclear medical apparatus, and measure radiation output of treatment sources and generators. Provide all necessary dose-calculation services for patient treatment and diagnosis using external, interstitial, intracavitary, and distributed internal sources, as well as consultation and collaboration services for other departments using radiation in any form. Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of innovative software and hardware technologies pertinent to Radiation Oncology. Performs and/or assists in developing a Proforma to justify new Radiation Oncology technologies.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
Master's degree in medical physics ABR board eligible Texas licensure
Preferred Job Requirements:
Completion of a CAMPEP approved residency program
