Assistant Health Physicist I Texas A&M University - 4.3 College Station, TX Job Details Full-time $22.99 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Job Title Assistant Health Physicist I Agency Texas A&M University Department Environmental Health & Safety Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description A Glimpse of the Job This Assistant Health Physicist I position, with minimal supervision, is responsible for performing routine tasks, such as inventory management, lab setup, closure, inspections and reviews, etc. Essential Duties Inventory Report Management Generates, distributes, and collects radiological program reports. This will include keeping compliance metrics, following up with non-responsive permit holders, following up on any permit holder requests or needed database updates, and track two-year storage plan program Coordinate with radiological waste team as necessary Radiological Safety Inspections Assists in performing the rad-safety inspections at remote sites using radioactive materials across Texas. This duty will require operating a University vehicle to locations on the College Station campus and remote locations Provides expertise to ensure inspections are performed to RSO standards Assists with all follow-up activities for radiological lab inspections Schedules and performs remote-site RAM inspections Dosimetry Assists with distribution and pickup personnel and area monitor dosimetry badges to main campus and Cyclotron Cyclotron Institute Support Supports the Senior Health Physicist stationed at the Cyclotron Institute in routine activities to include, routine and special surveys, contamination remediation, dosimetry, inspections, the development and maintenance of the written procedure HP manual, and other duties as assigned Surveys and Inventory Assists with performing radiation and/or contamination surveys and inventory verification at main campus and Cyclotron as needed Without supervision, performs surveys and response checks, loads LSC, paperwork and report management Assists with Cyclotron interlock checks and leak checks on sources as needed Radioactive Material Handling Assists with receipt and delivery to lab of radioactive materials for the campus as needed. This duty will require operating a University vehicle to locations on the College Station campus and remote locations Tasks include cover lab, perform MDA calculations, perform package check-in procedure, and paperwork management Emergency Response Coordinates emergency response and provides technical expertise for radiological incidents, as necessary What You Need to

Required Education and Experience Associate degree or 60 plus hours of college hours in a related discipline such as Science or Engineering or fields such as Health Physics or Nuclear Engineering Technology, or any equivalent combination of education and experience No experience required Required Licenses and Certifications Valid State of Texas Driver license or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire Preferred Qualifications Degree in a related discipline such as science or engineering Some work experience, preferably working around radioactive materials and radiation producing devices Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of environmental safety and health rules, regulations, and standards Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others Other Requirements and Factors Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment system or water treatment system This position is security sensitive This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements May require night and/or weekend hours May require occasional travel Instructions to
