The Program Manager, R&D New Product Development is accountable for the overall development of multiple assays, instruments and SW releases that are needed for our clinical and life sciences customer base. The incumbent acts as General Manager of the program to ensure all aspects of product development is done through excellence in execution with the skills to communicate program status across all levels in the organization. This position reports to the Automation Senior Manager PMO and is part of the R&D PMO l ocated in San Jose, CA and will be an on-site role In the Program Manager role, you will have the opportunity to: Lead and manage cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop, and execute programs for next-generation automation products, ensuring excellence in product delivery and seamless release. Partner with cross-functional teams to drive program execution, manage trade-offs, establish timelines, budgets, and risks, and serve as a liaison between development programs, Core Teams, and Senior Leadership, guiding products through to release. Utilize and deploy the Danaher Business System (DBS) to develop program metrics, implement Daily Management, and drive a DBS culture throughout the product development process, establishing program success KPIs. Demonstrate strong communication skills to manage and resolve program status, escalations, and issues, including synthesizing complex information for executive-level understanding and establishing efficient multi-pillar program communication structures. Foster and nurture collaborative relationships across the organization to facilitate effective program execution and successful product release. The essential requirements of the job include : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related technical field. Prefer 10+ years of experience in the life sciences, diagnostics, medical device, or related regulated industry. Prefer 5+ years of experience leading complex product development programs from concept through commercialization. Demonstrated experience applying design control processes and product lifecycle management within a regulated environment. Experience utilizing complex program management methodologies, tools, and best practices to drive cross-functional product development initiatives.
