This role oversees product compliance, claim substantiation, ingredient review, documentation control, and management of the product development pipeline from concept through launch. The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of cosmetic regulations with hands-on product development experience and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, Sales, and external partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Regulatory Affairs Ensure compliance with U.S. and international cosmetic regulations, including FDA, MoCRA, EU, and other applicable requirements. Review and approve product claims, marketing materials, social media content, and website language. Maintain regulatory documentation, including Product Information Files (PIFs), SDSs, specifications, Coas, and technical dossiers. Manage ingredient reviews, INCI nomenclature, and labeling compliance. Develop and maintain SOPs and quality systems related to regulatory activities. Monitor changes in regulations and communicate impacts to the organization. Serve as the primary regulatory liaison with testing laboratories, consultants, and regulatory agencies. Research & Development Manage the company's product development pipeline from concept to commercialization. Lead formulation projects with contract manufacturers and development partners. Support efficacy testing, stability studies, and product validation programs. Evaluate new ingredients, technologies, and product opportunities. Coordinate product specifications, packaging requirements, and technical documentation. Assist in identifying product classifications and permissible claims for new innovations. Support technology transfer and scale-up activities. Cross-Functional Leadership Partner with Marketing to review and approve all promotional claims and content. Build and maintain a centralized regulatory document management system. Coordinate with Operations and Supply Chain to support successful product launches. Collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), laboratories, and external partners on product initiatives. Present project updates and recommendations to executive leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Regulatory Affairs, Cosmetic Science, or related field. 5+ years of experience in cosmetic, personal care, biotech, or life sciences industries. Strong knowledge of cosmetic regulations, ingredient compliance, and product claims. Experience managing product development and commercialization projects. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Experience with document control systems and quality management systems preferred.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES
Experience with biologics, exosomes, peptides, or advanced skincare technologies. Experience with international registrations and global product launches. Familiarity with efficacy testing, clinical studies, and claim substantiation.
