As Crop Technology Lead Soy, you will serve as the enterprise architect of the future Soy portfolio, connecting long-term vision, strategic foresight, portfolio design, and investment choices to ensure the organization competes in the right opportunity spaces and builds the capabilities required to win tomorrow's market. The role operates at the intersection of enterprise strategy, portfolio management, and innovation leadership, influencing decisions that shape the future composition of the R D portfolio over a 10-20+ year horizon. You will have the opportunity to create value by ensuring the organization does not merely react to market change but proactively shapes its future competitive position ensuring generating up to 11 bn€ peak net sales. The role reports to the Strategy and Excellence Lead in R D. The primary responsibilities of this role, Crop Technology Lead Soy, are to: + Accountable for the holistic R D pipeline strategy for Soy based on pipeline performance, risk/opportunity assessment, scientific and commercial evaluation; + Lead a cross‑functional end-to-end pipeline team accountable for the R D strategic priorities and pipeline decisions grounded in market, customer, and grower needs; + Ensure technical and asset strategy are enabled according to overall portfolio risk/opportunity assessment, and that investment decisions are based on sound scientific, regulatory, business insights and commercial evaluation; + Be accountable to define external scouting priorities within the pipeline team; + Drive Soy portfolio health by enabling prioritization, scenario planning, and trade‑off decisions across the pipeline to enable the best RoI on R D capabilities; + Ensure cross-technology portfolio synergies and trade-off enablement aligned with strategic business priorities cross-EPT; + Be a part of Technology Lead network, catalyze the necessary teams and enable outcomes for value generation at the interface of S&T and CP (Weed/Pest and Disease management); + Ensure strategic alignment with Corn and Cotton technology leads; + Be a part of the network of work leads at S&E, act as an architect to design the AI enabled future portfolio decision making system valuation logic, trade‑off mechanisms, resource models, and decision matrix_ to convert scientific, commercial, regulatory, and regional inputs into high‑quality, strategically prioritized investments; + Be part of the Soy Enterprise Product Team, represent R D along with RDLT leads, and be accountable for enabling and delivering on the R D Opex line on the EPT P&L; + Ensure close alignment with R D Homes and finance; + Bepart of the Soy Enterprise Product Team, lead strategic and cross-technologies projects to pave the mid to long term strategy for Soy and oversee short‑term execution of blockbuster delivery; + Foster career development by enabling raising talents to pipeline performance area; + Enable communication of business performance and competitive differentiation to the R D organization.

• Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

+ Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Agriculture, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field; + Strong understanding of R D value creation logic, portfolio management, and investment; + Excellent strategic, long-term visionary and innovative mindset; + Excellent business acumen to interpret market / portfolio requirements and market-driven changes; + Strong AI acumen with the ability to design and leverage agent-enabled workflows to enhance decision quality and execution; + Ability to build teams and networks, and influence without formal authority; + Experience to work and collaborate across global, matrix organizations; + Excellent communication skills and executive presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ 10+ years of experience in R D portfolio management, strategy, investment management, portfolio analytics, or business excellence. This posting will be available for application until at least September 3, 2026. Relocation may be offered for this role. Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $196,640.00 to $294,960.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
