The Research Assistant III assists with research work tasks of higher-complexity in support of a research project under minimal supervision. May assist with ordering equipment and supplies, set up of equipment, performing experiments, monitoring results, data collection, preparation of support materials, etc. May supervise students and/or other support workers assigned to the research project.Additional Department Summary:
Coordinates day-to-day activities of theHRSA SANE
Nurse Training Program for West Central Alabama grant. Communicates regularly with community partners, trainees and staff. Prepares correspondence. Maintains records. Creates and maintains charts, graphs, spreadsheets and databases. Schedules calendar and meetings as requested on behalf of the Project Director. Coordinates events with community partners. Assists with trainee recruitment. Manages grant funds, requests invoices for processing and keeps records of project expenditures.Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of research support experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of research support experience; OR bachelor's degree or higher and some research support experience.Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent time management and organizational skills. Attention to detail. Strong presentation and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills in virtual, phone, and in person formats. Ability to interact with faculty, trainees, staff and community partners at all levels with professionalism. Proficiency with Zoom and Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.Background Investigation Statement:
