Quarry was co-founded by Yale Professor Craig Crews and ex-Pfizer leader Mikael Dolsten, and has a leadership team with deep expertise in molecular glue and bifunctional small molecule drugs, platform innovation, and company building. Quarry is funded by top-tier venture firms. Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and independent bench scientist to join our biophysics team. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to multiple preclinical programs and the development of proximity-inducing small molecule drugs for cancer treatment. The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, present findings to the team, and make a meaningful impact on the company's portfolio and on patient health. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in DNA-encoded library screening and demonstrate dedication and urgency in a fast-moving biotech environment. This position reports to the Associate Director, Biophysics and will be located in New Haven, CT. Principal Responsibilities Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Leverage expertise in DEL selections to discover and validate molecular glues through protein capture assays and selection workflows
  • Assist in the build out of lab infrastructure to enable internal DEL selections from reagent validation through NGS sample preparation
  • Present findings to a multidisciplinary team of biologists, chemists and computational team members to build mechanistically driven selection strategies
  • A strong desire to innovate, learn, and grow as a technical lead of DEL screening Qualifications BS/MS with 5-10 years experience Hands-on experience with sample preparation, capture assays, and DEL selections Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems in reagent characterization and screening Collaborative and excited to execute on novel strategies for induced proximity hit discovery This role is primarily laboratory-based, so being on-site full-time is required Prior authorization to live and work in the United States Compensation Quarry offers a competitive compensation package including equity awards and annual bonus.
