Job Description
Lab Assistant Position Overview:
Grow Pro Genetics is hiring two Lab Assistants for the Fall of 2026. Throughout the fall, the Lab Assistant will become familiar with the work it takes to develop and deliver high quality wheat varieties to farmers. The Lab Assistant is responsible for carrying out duties to further the research objectives of the Soft Red Winter Wheat breeding program based in Hamel, IL. The Lab Assistant will work under the direction of the Operations Manager for Grow Pro Genetics, LLC. The primary duties of the Lab Assistant will be to assist in the processing and organization of wheat according to the standards set forth by the Director of Research. Essential duties andResponsibilities:
Attention to detail. Process harvested wheat according to processing protocols. Organize, sort inventory, and package seed. Keep all work areas clean and organized. Follow all safety precautions and report any safety issues to Operations Manager.Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Education High School diploma or GED with enrollment in college program.
- Experience/Qualifications Recommendation from previous employer and/or professor/teacher.
- Competencies Follow written protocols and procedures.
