Overview Job Summary:
Malanai LLC is recruiting a Research Analyst III to support the US Department of Transportation (DOT) National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) effort. The Research Analyst III will use experience in a specific automotive research field; know industry trends and issues in the specific field. Analyze data and write reports and report research and test results in various formats. The Analyst will also conduct statistical analyses and interpret statistical test data at an expert level.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct advanced quantitative and qualitative research in support of
NHTSA OVSC
vehicle safety compliance programs and initiatives. Develop and maintain expertise in automotive safety research, vehicle technologies, compliance regulations, and emerging industry trends. Analyze complex vehicle safety, compliance, testing, and market data to identify trends, risks, anomalies, and performance metrics. Review and interpret manufacturer submissions, compliance documentation, technical reports, and regulatory information. Prepare technical reports, research summaries, presentations, dashboards, and data visualizations for government stakeholders. Support vehicle compliance investigations, research studies, and special analytical projects. Collaborate with engineers, investigators, policy analysts, software developers, and other technical specialists to support agency initiatives. Support requirements gathering, business process analysis, workflow improvements, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Assist with testing, validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and implementation of software applications and system enhancements. Develop and maintain technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), analytical methodologies, and project documentation. Ensure data quality through validation, quality assurance, and verification activities. Participate in technical meetings, provide analytical recommendations, document action items, and track project progress. Support data management, reporting, and modernization efforts involving enterprise databases and information systems. Ensure all deliverables are completed accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with contractual requirements and NHTSA quality standards. Perform other research, analytical, and technical support duties as assigned.
Requirements Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Automotive Engineering, Business, Public Administration, or a related technical field. Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience performing automotive research, data analysis, program analysis, or technical research. Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills. Experience analyzing large datasets and preparing technical reports for executive or government audiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Microsoft Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or other required federal background investigation.
