The Robert '92 and Heather Pick STEM Center Graduate Assistant provides administrative support to the operations of the Center, with an emphasis on data collection, evaluation, and assessment. Basic Responsibilities The Robert '92 & Heather Pick STEM Center at McDaniel College seeks a graduate assistant (10 hours/week) to provide assistance with data management, assessment, and research in optimizing Center effectiveness. Specific Responsibilities:
Scheduling:
Oversee the assignment of tutoring shifts based on staff availability, and student demand via drop-in and recurring sessions utilizing the EAB Navigate360 platform. Staff Evaluation:
Assist the director in conducting staff observations and providing timely feedback and/or professional development to learning assistants. Client Feedback:
Manage the design, distribution, and collection of client feedback twice per semester to evaluate student perception of the Center's services. Assessment:
Analyze data collected from scheduling, evaluations, and client feedback to assess Center effectiveness and inform ongoing, semester-based, and annual policy, service, and goal development. Special Projects:
Conduct research on best practices of learning centers and work on special projects that enhance support for students, staff, programming, and services. Requirements:
Enrolled in a graduate program at McDaniel College in Data Analytics, Innovations in Teaching and Learning, or related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate initiative, time management and attention to detail. Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with evaluation, assessment, and analysis of data strongly preferred.
