Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research (CHEAR) Center in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Michigan Medical School is seeking applications for a full-time, research-focused faculty position at the Research Assistant Professor level. The planned activities for this position relate to ing econometric, biostatistical, and epidemiological methods to study issues surrounding maternal and child health, insurance coverage, and Medicaid policy. The applicant will lead grant applications, author peer-reviewed publications, and present at national meetings. The applicant will play an active role in teaching and mentoring CHEAR fellows as well as other students and trainees. The CHEAR Center is one of the largest centers in the U.S. that focuses on pediatric health services and health outcomes research. Our team includes general pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, economists, epidemiologists, and research scientists. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to the care of children with chronic conditions, pediatric health care utilization and spending, immunizations, Medicaid policy, and health equity. Key strengths of the CHEAR Center include an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment, national reputation, strong administrative support, excellent research staff, longstanding relationships with the State of Michigan, and access to a broad range of administrative databases. Moreover, the CHEAR Center has access to the resources of the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation, which unites 830 faculty across the University of Michigan who conduct health services research. The CHEAR Center and the University of Michigan are located in Ann Arbor, which is consistently rated as one of the best places to live in the U.S. by media outlets. Position Overview
