JOB DESCRIPTION
Materials Technician III - Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I)

Shift:
1st Shift, Onsite Andersen Corporation is seeking a self-motivated Materials Technician to join our energetic Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) Materials and Fabrication T eam . This role provides critical support to engineers leading projects in areas such as: Material development across thermoplastics, thermosets, sealants, glass, coatings, and adhesives Corner welding and joining technologies Packaging materials and construction Fenestration product life prediction testing Product development and design Job Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide technical support for assigned work areas, including determining appropriate test procedures, reporting clear and accurate results, and participating in continuous improvement activities Collaborate with engineers to prepare, develop, test, and evaluate materials, parts, products, and processes Assist engineers in drawing conclusions and informing decisions on new and existing product development and quality initiatives Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of test methods and data under direction Manage tasks with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and meet project deadlines Present technical information and proposals to team members Create basic prototypes and fixtures to support assigned work areas by executing concepts developed by others Work independently to complete assigned tasks as needed Occasional travel required (approximately 5%); primary work location is Bayport, MN Minimum Qualifications 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience General knowledge and use of computers and basic software (Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Strong interest and basic aptitude for technical or scientific work Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work effectively as part of a team Flexibility to work varied hours to support testing assignments and deadlines Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Preferred Qualifications 1-2 years of experience in material characterization/testing Ability to operate power industrial trucks (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) Strong math, science, mechanical, and experimental skills Willingness to learn and operate new software and equipment
PAY RANGE
$24.95 - $36.15 CULTURE

PROFIT SHARING
In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
