Position Summary Position Title:
Research Associate NOTE:
This position is located in Kannapolis, NC, appx. 2 hours from UNC's main campus. The Meyer Lab is seeking a Research Associate (RA) who will work on epidemiologic studies related to diet/nutrition, human metabolism, and cardiometabolic health outcomes. Job duties include epidemiologic, bioinformatic, and statistical analysis of data from population-based cohort, and/or smaller-scale clinical nutrition, studies. The RA will be responsible for producing publication-ready data displays and for writing up results for journal submission, including substantive literature review, coordination with co-authors, and formatting per journal requirements. The RA will meet regularly with the hiring PI, as well as with larger groups of research collaborators, including UNC-based and multi-center teams. Much of the collaborative work focuses on using multi-omics approaches for integrative analysis of high-dimensional data (e.g., proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics) in studies of cardiometabolic health outcomes. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Master's or Bachelor's and 0-2 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution. Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience- Qualified candidates should have completed a PhD in nutrition, epidemiology, or a closely related field.
- Candidates must have expertise in nutrition or epidemiology.
- Experience conducting statistical analysis in R for nutritional epidemiologic research, including population-based cohorts.
- History of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
- Ability to conduct analysis and writing tasks independently, and as part of a team.
